- Additional Application (AA) – a True Colors program that takes the concept past the foundational experience and applies the True Colors method/theory to other topics such as: parenting, teaching, student learning, career choices, sports coaching, leadership, teambuilding, communication, conflict management, selling, wellness, and more.
- Advanced Application – same as, and former title of, an Additional Application
- Authorized Independent Consultant (AIC) – a certified True Colors Facilitator who is an independent business owner/consultant, has registered as such with True Colors, and has a partnership with True Colors where True Colors contracts with the AIC to deliver seminars and workshops on our behalf.
- Basic Awareness – the former name of Personal Success; the title of the True Colors foundational experience
- Brand License Fee – a fee paid on some products for the intellectual property of said product
- Brightest Color – the color of a Color Spectrum with the highest score indicating the color that is most prevalent in your personality
- Card Sort – part of the process for determining a Color Spectrum; sorting the Character Cards based on the descriptions on each in order of most like you to least like you
- Cards / Character Cards – four cards (stiff paper with two-sided printing) in the colors of orange, blue, green and gold that display characters and characteristics representative of each color/personality
- Carl Jung – described as “Father” of humanistic and transpersonal psychology (Feeler, Thinker, Sensor, Intuitor).
- Cast – a troupe of four actors that deliver/perform the True Colors Live Show Events
- Casting Kit – same as Introduction to True Colors Cards; contains the four Character Cards and a Word Sort; used for all Live Show Events.
- Certification – the process of becoming licensed by True Colors to deliver one of our subject seminars
- Color Spectrum – the ranking of a persons colors to describe their personality
- Consumer Preference Model – refers to sales/selling using True Colors where you can identify how to approach a consumer based on their Brightest Color and the preferences of said color
- Course – a customized set of True Colors seminars designed to be experienced in succession for a specific purpose
- David Keirsey – a Clinical Psychologist, author of the books, “Please Understand Me” and “Please Understand Me II” on the topics of temperament, character and intelligence (Guardians, Idealists, Artisans, Rationales).
- Edutainment – sometimes used to explain a True Colors Live Show Event; incorporates entertainment with education
- Executive Trainer – a certified True Colors facilitator who has advanced to a point of experience to be able to license facilitators to become Master Trainers
- Facilitator – someone who has been certified by True Colors to deliver Personal Success seminars and Additional Applications
- Independent Business Owner (IBO) – same as an Independent Consultant (IC)
- Independent Consultant (IC) – an independent business owner who delivers True Colors Seminars/Programs for a fee
- “Keep it Sticky” – phrase used to indicate keeping True Colors relevant in a company or organization on an ongoing basis
- Keys – short for our foundation product
Keys to Personal Success
- License – official or legal permission to deliver True Colors services and purchase our facilitator-only products
- License Fee – amount paid on an annual basis (currently $75) by all facilitators to maintain license/remain in good standing and purchase facilitator-only products
- Live Show – an illustration of the True Colors model where actors bring the four personalities to life.
- Live Show Director – person responsible for working directly with Executive Producer, Letitia Fox, to ensure the quality of each Live Show. Directors are currently located in Texas, Los Angeles, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico and Canada.
- Live Show Keynote – a one to one-and-a-half hour Live Show.
- Live Show Event – a three hour event which contains the Live Show and customized break out sessions.
- Master Trainer – a True Colors Facilitator who has the experience and authority from True Colors to both deliver our services and to license others to become facilitators; someone who conducts certification trainings; same as Train-the-Trainer
- Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) – an assessment designed over 50 years ago which identifies a person’s whole type made up of four basic type preferences (Feeling, Thinking, Judging, Perceiving) (SP, SJ, NT, NF).
- Needs Assessment – a process between True Colors and an organization to help True Colors understand your needs, areas of interest and to discuss the requirements to design a program that is just right for you
- Palest Color – the color of a Color Spectrum with the lowest score indicating the color that is least prevalent in your personality
- Personal Success – the foundational experience of True Colors that introduces someone to the True Colors method of personality assessment; formerly called Basic Awareness
- Private Certification – a certification training conducted for a specific business or organization for their employees/members only, and not open to the public
- Program – a variety of services or topics available from True Colors, including Personal Success Seminars and Additional Applications
- Public Certification – a certification training available to the public and advertised on the True Colors web site
- Published Books – True Colors books available for purchase by the public
- Seminar – a meeting/workshop/presentation for a specific length of time (several hours to a full day) where participants are guided through a True Colors Program
- Service Agreement – a contract for services with True Colors
- Systemic Initiative – a customized True Colors Program that spreads throughout an entire company or organization in several areas, i.e., management, training, wellness, family
- Three-sixty / 360° – refers to portion of the Online Assessment where others are invited to assess you, allowing you to see how others perceive you
- Trainer – same as a Facilitator
- Train-the-Trainer – same as Master Trainer
- Word Cluster / Word Sort – part of the process for determining a Color Spectrum
